Disproving What We're Taught

QUESTION EVERYTHING AND LEARN FOR YOURSELF HOW ONE BECOMES WISE

INTRODUCTION

I do not belong to any religion, organized or otherwise. In fact, the acknowledgement of religion as little more than a form of governmental psychology is an intrinsic part of my way of thinking and of my stance on evil. I'll explain.

When I was a kid I was taught that God was the reason for all things. Serving god was the meaning of life. As I grew older I began to wonder about the world around me and sought out opinions that differed from the Christian fundamentalist teachings of almost everyone I knew.

I did everything my parents were afraid of. I came out as a lesbian, I distanced myself from my parents, I moved in with my girlfriend, and I began reading essays and listening to the music of anarchists and Anti-Christians. I led myself toward a complete reassessment of my own goals and values. This change may seem quite radical, but it was in fact a slow change that I now realize was inevitable.

For a while I sought religion. I read the principles of the Temple Of Set, and those of Satanism. My sister told me a lot about Eastern mysticism & philosophy. I was on a mission to find the true faith, but the more knowledge I attained, the more my faith in religion crumbled. It took a surprisingly long time before I stopped to think about the connection between, individuals, society, and religion. One of the epiphanies that helped me the most is this one:

As a human being, the greatest knowledge that one can attain is the knowledge that in relative terms, you know nothing!

Most of us are so caught up in our daily pursuits and the trifles of everyday life that we don't even stop to question what we take into our minds every day.

Structure in society and religion is based on tradition and fear of change. Every religion started out as a cult. "Experts" standing on the shoulders of "experts" create empires that define reason. Members of a group seek answers to the big question from their leaders. But no one can truthfully answer the questions that burn within our psyches.

Is there a heaven? Is there a hell? Is there a next life? Will God bring on Armageddon?

Again, no one alive can truthfully answer these questions because in these matters, every last one of us is blind.
